The reason is because of the simple term we all learned in school- Supply and Demand. If there is little competition and homes are selling quickly, don't wait- Sell Now! That means buyers have more to choose from and the number of days on the market increase and prices go down to compete with one another. Simple as that.
In order to sell your home in ANY season, your home needs to be priced right. There are over priced homes in every market, in every season. Buyers aren't stupid. Over priced homes will sit on the market collecting days and cob webs without attention.
